FERGUSON — ×îÐÂÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ County prosecutors have charged a man with a felony after he boarded a school bus with his 6-year-old daughter and directed her to punch a 7-year-old girl in the head.
Maurice Fox, of the 200 block of Wooster Drive in Ferguson, faces a felony charge of harassment, two misdemeanor assault charges and one misdemeanor charge of trespassing on a school bus after the Thursday morning incident.
Ferguson police say Fox boarded the Ferguson-Florissant School District bus a little after 9 a.m. Thursday morning with his daughter. The bus driver tried to stop him, but Fox pushed past him.Â
Police said Fox then walked to where a 7-year-old girl was seated, threatened her and told his daughter to do "what I told you to do." Fox's daughter began punching the other girl in the head. After she stopped, Fox told her, "again," and she began punching the 7-year-old once more.Â
When she stopped, Fox said:Â "I want her crying, again," and his daughter resumed punching the other child, according to police. When Fox's daughter stopped, they left the bus. The incident was captured on video surveillance.Â
Fox, who is 36 or 37, has prior felony convictions for possession of a firearm, armed robbery and aggravated battery.
Police requested a warrant and a ×îÐÂÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ County judge ordered Fox held on a $100,000 cash-only bond. As of Saturday afternoon, he did not yet appear to be in custody.
