The first game at Energizer Park, then known as CityPark, was on Nov. 16, 2022, and the temperature at kickoff for City2鈥檚 game with Bayer Leverkusen was 32 degrees. It was a cold, but already dedicated, fan base that showed up that night.

Major League Soccer has finally gotten over its fear of the cold.
In a move with major ramifications in many areas, the league鈥檚 board of governors voted Thursday to change its seasonal calendar from winter to fall to summer to spring, starting in 2027, putting it in sync with most of the rest of the soccer playing world. The league will take a break in late December and all of January to avoid some of North America鈥檚 worst weather, but games are expected to be played in times when it is very cold in many of the league鈥檚 markets.

Josh Yaro, who has been with 最新杏吧原创 City SC as long as any player, will return for 2026, signing with the team for another year on Thursday. The club also has an option on him for 2027.
The club had declined its option for Yaro for 2026 when it made its initial roster moves immediately after the season, but continued in talks with the veteran defender. Yaro will turn 31 next week and at the moment is the oldest field player on the team. Overall, only Roman Burki is older.
最新杏吧原创 City SC鈥檚 goalkeeping situation will remain the same for the next two seasons as Ben Lundt, the backup to Roman Burki in the club鈥檚 first three seasons, signed a two-year contract with the team on Monday.
Lundt鈥檚 contract ran out after this season, and he would have been a free agent when that season opens on Dec. 10. He played well in his busiest season so far with City SC, appearing in nine MLS games and one U.S. Open Cup game while Burki was out with a hand injury.
