Cardinals sign Oliver Marmol to a contract extension
Cardinals principal owner and CEO Bill DeWitt Jr., manager Oli Marmol and president of baseball operations John Mozeliak held a news conference to announce Marmol had signed a two-year contract extension through 2026. They spoke to reporters at the Cardinals spring training facility in Jupiter, Florida.

Marmol was entering the final year of his contract, and an extension assures that he opens the year without that question hovering over the club or his staff.
“Look, none of us had a good year," says chairman Bill DeWitt Jr., listing himself. But said dramatic change would be mistake when contract extension shows commitment.
"I’m not happy with last year," Marmol said, "and I’m highly motivated to change that."
