STEELEVILLE, Ill. • Two employees suffered serious burns in an explosion at Gilster-Mary Lee's pasta plant here Thursday.
The employees were taken to a hospital in ×îÐÂÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ for treatment of their injuries, Gilster-Mary Lee spokesman Tom Welge said.
The two were performing maintenance to equipment in the pasta plant between 1 and 1:30 p.m. when an explosion occurred, he said.
Company officials conducted a damage assessment of the facility and equipment in the affected area. Partial operations at the plant were expected to resume this afternoon.
Steeleville is about 65 miles southeast of ×îÐÂÐÓ°ÉÔ´´.
