ST. LOUIS COUNTY — The man shot by an Overland police officer after a traffic stop Sunday has been charged with resisting arrest.
Prosecutors on Monday charged 28-year-old Eddie Washington with the felony. His bond was set at $5,000 cash.

Washington lives in the 11800 block of Cato Drive in unincorporated North County.
Washington was shot about 7:45 a.m. Sunday after officers confronted him on the parking lot of a gas station in the 10700 block of Page Avenue in Overland, police said.
According to court documents, a license-plate reader alerted officers to a car Washington was driving. The car was wanted in connection with an assault on a law enforcement officer in Caseyville, police said.
Overland police tried to detain Washington but he ran from officers, ×îÐÂÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ County police Detective Robert Bates said in court documents.

Washington wrestled with an officer on the ground, Bates said.
The probable cause statement by Bates does not mention that Washington was shot by the Overland officer. But ×îÐÂÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ County police earlier in the day Monday described that Washington had been shot while resisting arrest.
Washington was treated at a hospital. Police have not disclosed where he was hit or how badly he was injured.
The officer was also taken to a hospital, though authorities have not described his injuries. The officer, 25, has been an officer one year.
Bates said investigators learned later that Washington was wanted for a parole violation.
Washington did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
