Former KSDK reporter Savannah Louie thinks she has what it takes to outplay, outwit and outlast 17 other contestants in the beautiful Fiji Islands.
Louie, 31, is a cast member in the 49th season of the hit reality show 鈥淪urvivor,鈥 which begins airing Sept. 24 on CBS.
Louie was a morning news anchor and reporter at KSDK (Channel 5) from 2019 to 2021. She left 最新杏吧原创 to work at an independent station in Atlanta, Atlanta News First.
In a short video biography she posted to her Facebook page, she said she recently left journalism to do marketing for her parents鈥 company.
鈥淪urvivor鈥 has been a hit since it made its debut in 2000. Contestants are sent to an isolated but photogenic location where they have to live off the land for a few weeks. They are divided into two or sometimes three teams and are given a series of physical or mental challenges. Each week, a player is famously voted off the island.
Although the players work in teams, they are also motivated by self-interest. So they make alliances and sometimes work to sabotage or betray others.
鈥淚鈥檓 going to create as stressful a situation as possible, even for my allies,鈥 Louie said in the video.
鈥淚鈥檓 going to sow seeds of paranoia. I鈥檓 not afraid to take someone鈥檚 jacket in the middle of the night and maybe 鈥榤isplace鈥 it. And I鈥檒l have the shoulder to cry on when they鈥檙e ready to talk to their daughter or their best friend or their confidante.鈥
She said that she might not seem like an outdoorsy person or someone who likes to get dirty, 鈥渂ut honestly, for a million bucks, I鈥檝e done a hell of a lot worse for a hell of a lot less.鈥
As she said it, she laughed.
