Next on transfer portal shopping list for Mizzou men's basketball? 3-point shooting
COLUMBIA, Mo. 鈥 It鈥檚 fitting that Missouri men鈥檚 basketball enters the dusky late stages of the transfer portal with three open roster spots. Look at what the Tigers still need to add this season and the numbers align.
More 3-point shooting is surely on the shopping list for coach Dennis Gates as he assembles his fifth Mizzou roster. More specifically, it鈥檚 guards with competent jumpers who will look especially appealing to an MU team that has plenty of size to put on the floor already but not as much in perimeter shot-making.

Dennis Gates' longtime recruitment, power forward track record brought Bryson Tiller to MU
COLUMBIA, Mo. 鈥 Nearly five years ago, early on a September morning, a basketball coach named Dennis Gates talked to a young prospect named Bryson Tiller.
They were both up-and-comers, as of Sept. 22, 2021. Tiller was a high school freshman at Pace Academy in his hometown of Atlanta, with a single Division I scholarship offer to play hoops at the college level. Gates was only 59 games, two seasons and one NCAA Tournament appearance into his head coaching career, having just taken Cleveland State to the big dance.

Mizzou running back Jamal Roberts could've transferred, but stayed: 'I started a legacy'
COLUMBIA, Mo. 鈥 Any one of the factors that, last December, made Missouri running back Jamal Roberts鈥 situation unique would鈥檝e been valid grounds to transfer.
Through three seasons with the Tigers, the former St. Mary鈥檚 star had received enough playing time to show he was a stellar tailback but not the kind of volume that most players of that caliber crave. Roberts couldn鈥檛 bank on there being significantly more touches available for his second-to-last season of eligibility either because All-American running back Ahmad Hardy is still in the picture.
